The Hidden Trail
The map is a token of my appreciation and gratitude for them
The Akureyri Botanical Garden is a wonderful specimen of Iceland’s nature at its best. The Hidden Trail in the Botanical Garden shows that our nature is full of life in various forms. Icelanders, as other indigenous people in the world, still talk of and believe in nature’s elements such as elves, hidden people and trolls.
Although only a few among us have seen the elves and hidden people with our own eyes, most of us know someone who has seen or felt their presence. Most often the tales of elves express their helpfulness towards us and many are believed to have saved human lives both on land and at sea. The dwellings of the hidden people and elves exist almost everywhere in Iceland. The purpose of the Hidden Trail in the Botanical Garden of Akureyri is to enable and simplify our encounters with the hidden people and elves and to remind us that they, just like us, ask that their homes and dwellings are respected and that we walk among them with that respect in mind. It is my wish that by issuing the map of the Hidden Trail it will serve to deepen understanding of “Mother Earth” for those of you who walk the path, and that you will experience the happiness and satisfaction that our nature brings us and that gives us fulfillment of life and the power and resources to do good deeds. So much relies on us feeling and understanding that all natural beings are whole and as one. |

MEDITATION
Find a quiet spot where the sounds of nature inspire music and hope.
Sit and look inside yourself, listen to the music of the spheres and the sound of the earth, feel the pulse of life and the land. You, I, all of us are one.
Feel the chord of creation resonate through your whole being and that the Creator is ever-present.
